The cyanotype or blue print was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842 as the first successful non-silver photographic printing process. It is an iron-salt mixture that when combined with organic substances become sensitive to light, forming a blue hue. Each image is unique, hand painted and developed by using a negative on watercolor paper and placing under the sun.
